    Recently approved new European Project with the active participation of Biocant

    SHAREBIOTECH” connects 11 European partners from Spain, France, Ireland, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
    .
    “SHAREBIOTECH” was recently approved and ranked 1st among the 48 projects submitted to priority 1 of the Atlantic Area Transnational Programme (“To promote transnational entrepreneurial and innovation networks”) and 2nd among 78 applications, the project connects 11 European partners from Spain, France, Ireland, Portugal and the United Kingdom.


    This project, in which Biocant is actively involved, will have the duration of 36 months, beginning on January 2010, with a total investment of 2.786.062,50 € (62,68% FEDER support).


    The objective of “SHAREBIOTECH” is to share infrastructures and competences in life sciences, in order to benefit the biotechnology sector in the Atlantic area. The starting point of the project is to understand the diversity of needs, from the clear demands of specialized researchers, to the vaguely expressed needs of SMEs of the less-technology intensive sectors. The infrastructures and facilities in Life Sciences tend to be scattered throughout multiple sites and the challenge will be to ensure cohesion and integration to attain critical mass, creating an accessible network of TCFs (Technological Core Facilities).
